Projects and Switching

Change what you are working on without checking out and back in. Clocky saves the time already worked to the previous project and starts tracking the next one.

Choose a project

Projects are available on Premium, Pro, and Lifetime. An administrator creates them in the Clocky dashboard. Premium supports up to 100 projects; Pro and Lifetime have no configured project limit.

Select a project from Discord's suggestions when starting work:

/checkin project:Support

If your current session has no project, you can choose one with /switch.

Switch while working

/switch project:Website

The project is required. Choose an existing project in the current server. Clocky confirms the previous and new project, saves the completed time, and keeps you checked in.

Selecting the project you are already working on leaves your timer unchanged and creates no extra session. Switching again changes where time is recorded from that moment; it does not reassign earlier work.

Time and session counts

Each project switch starts a new work segment. For example, 30 minutes on Support followed by 20 minutes on Website becomes two sessions totaling 50 minutes, with 30 minutes allocated to Support and 20 to Website.

Session counts and average session duration use these separate segments. A switch does not count you as an additional active user.

/status shows the current project and segment timer. /checkout closes and summarizes the final segment. Use /stats for total worked time and /history to see completed segments with their project names.

Breaks and auto-checkout

End an active break with /break end before switching. Check that work resumed, then run /switch. If you are checked out, start with /checkin.

A switch to a different project restarts the server's auto-checkout countdown from the new segment's start. Selecting the current project does not restart it. The server's configured threshold stays the same; 0 still disables auto-checkout.

If something changes

If another action changes your timer while the switch is processing, Clocky shows the current state rather than changing a newer session unexpectedly. Run /status and choose your next action from that state.

If Clocky cannot confirm whether a switch was saved, check /status and /history before sending another command. A missing confirmation does not necessarily mean the timer stayed on the previous project.

Normal project access and server check-in role requirements still apply. If the destination project was removed or access changed, ask a server administrator to check it.
