Install Clocky Bot

Add Clocky through Discord's authorization screen, then test a short work session.

Before you install

You need a Discord account that can add applications to the target server. Discord only lists servers where your account has sufficient permission.

Add Clocky

1. Select the Discord server.
2. Review the application and bot permissions shown by Discord.
3. Authorize the installation.

Clocky's documented workflow uses Discord slash commands and does not request the Message Content intent. Its bot role only needs View Channels, Send Messages, and Embed Links in the channels where it should operate.

Verify the installation

Run these commands in a channel where Clocky can respond:

/checkin
/status
/checkout
/stats period:week

/checkin starts a session, /status shows its current state, and /checkout records its duration. The test session then appears in a supported statistics period.

Troubleshooting

If Clocky's commands do not appear or responses fail:

1. Confirm Clocky is still a member of the server.
2. Check Discord's application-command and channel permissions for Clocky.
3. Try the command in a channel where Clocky can view and send messages.
4. Restart Discord if its slash-command menu appears stale.
5. Use the Troubleshooting Guide or contact support.

The reviewed install button uses Clocky's public application ID and an explicit Discord OAuth destination.

If an older installation granted Administrator or Read Message History, a server owner can remove those extras in Server Settings → Roles → Clocky. Keep the three permissions above and preserve any intentional channel-specific overrides. Changing Clocky's public install defaults does not alter existing server roles automatically.
