Troubleshooting Clocky Bot

Use the checks below before contacting support. Copy the exact error message when a problem continues.

Commands

Clocky's commands do not appear

  1. Confirm Clocky is still a member of the server.
  2. Check Discord's application-command permissions and channel overrides.
  3. Try a channel where Clocky can view and send messages.
  4. Restart Discord if its slash-command menu appears stale.

Billing, usage, and administrative commands also require Manage Server or a stricter operational-owner check.

A command is slow or fails

Do not immediately repeat a command that is still processing. If it fails, wait briefly and retry once. Record the command, approximate time, server ID, and the exact private response for support.

Sessions

/checkin says a session is already active

Run /status in the current server. If a session is open, end it with /checkout. A server administrator can close a stuck open session at the current time:

/admin-close-session user:@member

Clocky does not provide a public command for editing completed session timestamps.

A session was automatically closed

The default auto-checkout value is 12 hours. Paid server administrators can set 0 to 24 hours in dashboard Settings; 0 disables it. Auto-checkout runs periodically, so closure does not necessarily occur at the exact threshold minute.

Use /history limit:25 to review recent completed sessions.

Breaks and projects require Premium, Pro, or Lifetime. Breaks must also be enabled by a server administrator in dashboard Settings.

  • If /break start says breaks are unavailable, check both the plan and the server toggle.
  • If /break end says no break exists, run /break status in the same server.
  • If project selection is unavailable during /checkin, confirm the server has a paid entitlement and at least one active project.

Reports

/stats rejects a period

Use one of Discord's registered values:

/stats period:week
/stats period:last_week
/stats period:month
/stats period:last_month
/stats period:year
/stats period:last_year
/stats period:all_time

today and all-time are not registered period values.

/history or /leaderboard is empty

Check the current server and select a period that contains completed sessions. For the widest available leaderboard view, use:

/leaderboard period:all_time

Leaderboard members are visible by default but can hide themselves with /public visibility:off.

The server's plan also limits how far reports can query: Free 1 year, Premium 5 years, Pro 10 years, and Lifetime unlimited.

Limits

An active user is a member who started at least one work session in that server during the preceding 30 days. The plan limits are Free 5, Premium 100, and unlimited for Pro and Lifetime. Clocky's hosted production service enforces these limits. Self-hosted operators can set SEAT_ENFORCEMENT_ENABLED=false for an explicit monitoring-only rollout.

Clocky also applies base per-command cooldowns of 5 to 30 seconds and per-server limits from 60 to 200 commands per minute by plan. Paid servers receive reduced user cooldowns, while administrators receive higher limits and shorter cooldowns; only configured bot owners bypass them entirely.

Data and privacy

/data-export

The command returns a JSON attachment in its private Discord response. It does not require DMs and has no documented 24-hour cooldown. If no attachment appears, retry once and record the exact error for support.

/data-delete

Deletion requires confirmation. A current-server request may create a pending administrator-review request; all-server deletion uses the immediate confirmed path. Stored grace-period and legal-retention fields do not guarantee reminders, a cancellation window, scheduled deletion, archival, or restoration in the deployed member flow.

Read Data Export and Data Deletion for the current behavior.
